The material

Vegetable-tanned leather, worked slowly with bark tannins instead of chrome. Gray shows the grain more honestly than black does, so the surface texture and the stitching are both easier to read up close. It softens and darkens slightly with wear.

How it is made

Around 40 hours of handwork per bag, by one maker rather than a production line. The hardware is custom brushed brass, made for GENA and used on nothing else.

Wearing it

Gray sits against black, white, navy and earth tones without competing with any of them. If you want one bag that does not need thinking about in the morning, this is the one.
